Tile Upgrades for a Kitchen Redesign

When you are ready to redecorate your kitchen, make sure you remember to include tile in your design. It is extremely versatile, and it is available in many different materials, styles and colors. You can use tile almost anywhere in the entire room. It will work on the floor, on the counters and as a backsplash. Then you can use tiles for trivets, as furniture inlays or as wall hangings too. If your kitchen does not have any tile right now, you may want to take a minute to think about what areas in your kitchen would benefit most from the addition of some tile. You may like paver style tile on your kitchen floor to add a warm earthy glow to your room. This style of tile is very easy to decorate around, and it is extremely durable and easy to maintain. Countertop Tile
You might want to create tile countertops as well. You can create any design or texture that you wish with the new tiles that are available today. Shiny ceramic tile can add bold colors to your design scheme, or you may prefer a stone finish for a little more natural or rustic style for your countertop. You will find that the selection of tile that is available is staggering. Whether you are designing a countertop or a backsplash, you can go bold or go subtle and use tile to create a functional space that is easy to clean. You can create the look of a high-end kitchen by using some of the new textured tiles to add subtle interest to your space. Inexpensive Tile
If you are trying to be budget conscious as you are remodeling with tile, you can use standard tile for your countertop, and then simply add some or the more expensive specialty tile throughout your design. By not using the specialty tile throughout your countertop you will keep the price tag of you project down considerably. You may also end up with an aesthetically more pleasing end result as well, because the boldness of the tile will not be overwhelming. By using the high-end tile only as an accent in your counter design, they will be more visually appealing. You may also opt to use them as a border for a little more symmetry. If you want to add a little more visual interest to your kitchen, pay attention to the size of the tiles that you select. You can find tile in virtually every size imaginable. Small tiles can make a room feel larger, and large tile can open up a space. So pay attention to the impact that just the tile size has on your space. If adding tile to your kitchen is just more than you think that you can manage, then you may still include tile in your kitchen design. You can hang a large decorative tile on your walls as art. They also make beautiful trivets on your table or countertop. Just adding a single tile to your table can add a much needed splash of color to the space.
