Ceilings Fans add Style and Design along with Function

Everybody know that ceiling fans make a room cooler and even help to circulate warm air from your furnace in the winter. However, a ceiling fan can also add great style to a room. It’s really not difficult to find a stylish ceiling fan that complements the style of a room, versus a generic plain fan. In many cases, you can even find a fan that supports the theme of a room. Here are some ideas to consider. Tropical Breezes
If your room has a tropical or beach theme, a ceiling fan with blades shaped like tropical leaves are a perfect choice. They contribute to the laid-back, island feel of the room and keep tropical breezes as close as the flip of a switch. Leaf style fan blades are also pretty on an outdoor porch or in a room decorated in gracious southern style, since they are suggestive of hand fans used by gentle southern ladies. Instead of the usual horizontal blade configuration, choose a contemporary styled fan with vertical fan blades to accent a sleekly decorated modern room. You can choose a fan that also includes down lighting to illuminate the space. Such a contemporary fan also looks striking in a minimalist Zen inspired room and, since it is quieter than a horizontal blade fan, it is also a good choice for a media room. Kid Stuff
A kid’s room is the perfect place to use a colorful and thematic ceiling fan. You can find multicolored fans as well as fans featuring favorite cartoon characters. From butterflies to teddy bears, sports themes, cars, trains, fairies, boats and surfboards, kid theme ceiling fans can be found online and at your local home improvement store. Bamboo is all the rage among those who wish to decorate with eco-friendly options and a bamboo bladed fan is the perfect accent for any “green” room. Bamboo fans also have a decidedly Asian feel, so they bring an exotic feel to an Asian inspired room that may be missing with ordinary fixtures. Because their style is often Zen-like and understated, they also work well with minimalist styles and can be found in both typical horizontal blade arrangements as well as blades shaped like hand held fans. You can also find ceiling fans with star designs in the blades. These are not the expected five-point stars, but are blades that have a long vertical cutout on each blade of the fan. These fans create more airflow than traditional ceiling fans and offer an unusual look that is fun in kid’s rooms, play rooms and media rooms or any contemporary space. No matter which style of ceiling fan you choose, choosing one with a remote feature that controls lighting and blade speed greatly enhances convenience and function. |
