Abstract Art Have Concrete Effect Through Use of Abstract Wall Art or How to Create Abstract Art with Concrete Effect Through Abstract Wall Art

By Jessica Stockton

Do you prefer realistic to abstract art—or vice versa? History reveals the many styles of art; so choosing the appropriate wall art for all the rooms in your home is a daunting task. On the other hand, if you chose the style of art that you prefer first, selection of wall decors will be easier. Abstract art is one of the common and fascinating types. Like the realistic art, a lot of art medium was used to feature abstract art. But you will have to understand what abstract art is before you can show a better appreciation.

‘Abstract art’ has a lot of meanings; but it is precisely defined as the types of Western art of the 1900’s with characteristics like:
• Disregarded representation
• No starting or finishing points within nature

Abstract art is considered as one of the ‘modern’ art form; because it believed that art is abstract. Therefore, the principle of abstract art is not based on a particular subject.

When was this art form started? Most 18th century artists had been rejecting the standard reproduction of objects and nature through art. They decided to explore art as an outlet of human thoughts and unconsciousness. Until today, abstract art is expressed in different forms like abstract wall art. This type of art had gone through parallel to other art movements before evolving in its final stage as an abstract art. Such movements were Expressionism, Cubism, and Fauvism.

In 1910, Russian painter Vasily Kandinsky received credit for being the first artist who used abstract art exclusively on his paintings.

In 1913 and in 1917, two European art exhibits had helped abstract art become popular in the U.S.; first exhibition in New York and second in San Francisco, respectively. Young American painters like Georgia O’Keeffe started experimenting new artistic styles.

In 1915 to 1920, abstract art had started to become popular because of the De Stijl Group in the Netherlands.

Between World War I and World War II, abstract art continued growing. So by 1930’s, abstract art had become the most typical attribute of Western art.

After World War II, Abstract Expressionism was officially born in the U.S. Sculptures and paintings by American and European artists are greatly influenced by this new art form.

In 1950’s, Minimalism became the primary art form that played as the catalyst of abstract art. Some of the present abstract wall art had been portrayed by this art style. This form was much simple and a bit impersonal than earlier versions. After a while, focus of abstract art had slowly developed to exploring connection between colors and forms.

By 21st century, conceptual and figurative art forms have become significant as abstract art.

There are several choices of contemporary wall hangings available as wall art décor for your homes, as well as abstract wall art that can give an amazing concrete effect. Abstract art has a way of sprucing up your rooms.
